Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about our checkride study guides. No fluff.
What’s included in the Starter Bundle?
You’ll receive the Private Pilot (PPL), Instrument (IFR), and Commercial (CPL) Checkride Study Guides.
Each guide includes a questions-only PDF and a separate answer key—six study PDFs across the three guides—along with scenario practice, common checkride weak spots, and a guided study plan.
Does this replace ground school or prepare me for the written exams?
This bundle focuses on oral checkride preparation, rather than a complete ground-school course or multiple-choice written-test preparation. Use the questions to practice explaining and applying what you have learned, not just recognizing a correct answer.
AOA Pilot Prep is a separate product that teaches and reinforces the underlying concepts. It is not included in this bundle.
Do the guides follow the ACS, and will I receive updates?
Yes! Each guide is organized around the Airman Certification Standards (ACS) for its respective certificate or rating, with topic codes to help connect your review to the standards.
Revised versions are emailed when updates are released. Before starting your next stage of training, save the latest version and use it alongside current FAA references and your instructor’s guidance.
What’s the difference between the Starter Bundle and the Complete Bundle?
Starter includes Private Pilot, Instrument, and Commercial. Complete adds Multi-Engine and CFI, for five checkride study guides in total.
Choose Starter when you need preparation through Commercial. Consider Complete when your plans also include a multi-engine rating and becoming a flight instructor. The Complete Bundle contains checkride study guides, not instructor lesson plans.
Is this a digital download or a physical book?
This is a digital PDF bundle, not a printed book shipped to you. Access is delivered electronically after successful payment.
Save your files so you can study on a computer, tablet, or phone using a compatible PDF reader. If your delivery email is missing, check your spam folder and contact us with your order number and purchase email.
Who created these study guides?
The guides were developed by Ava (@pilot.avabelle), an airline pilot and E175 simulator instructor. Her previous work at the University of North Dakota included serving as a lead flight instructor and check airman, conducting more than 100 certificate-granting checkrides, and personally training over 40 students with a 100% oral checkride pass rate.
How much do I save compared with buying the guides separately?
At the current prices, the Starter Bundle is $45, compared with $59.97 when purchasing the three guides individually at $19.99 each. That saves $14.97—approximately 25%.
