Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about our checkride study guides. No fluff.
What’s included in the Complete Bundle?
You’ll receive five Checkride Study Guides: Private Pilot (PPL), Instrument (IFR), Commercial (CPL), Multi-Engine, and CFI.
Each guide includes a questions-only PDF and a separate answer key—10 core study PDFs in total, along with scenario practice, common checkride weak spots, and a guided study plan.
How is this different from the Starter Bundle, and how much do I save?
Starter includes Private Pilot, Instrument, and Commercial. Complete adds Multi-Engine and CFI. At the current prices, Complete is $75 compared with $45 for Starter—an additional $30 for two more guides.
Purchasing all five guides individually at $19.99 each would cost $99.95, so the Complete Bundle saves you $24.95—approximately 25%. Choose Complete when you expect to use all five; individual guides may be a better fit when you only need preparation for one or two remaining checkrides.
Does this replace ground school or prepare me for the written exams?
This bundle focuses on oral checkride preparation, rather than a complete ground-school course or multiple-choice written-test practice. Use the questions and scenarios to practice explaining and applying what you have learned.
AOA Pilot Prep is a separate product that reinforces the underlying concepts through resources including video lessons and quizzes. It is not included in this bundle.
Does “Complete” include CFI lesson plans, CFII, or MEI?
No. This bundle includes the CFI Checkride Study Guide, but not the CFII or MEI Checkride Study Guides. Those are separate products.
CFI lesson plans are also purchased separately. The Study Guide helps you practice answering oral questions; the Lesson Plans help you organize and present the lessons you will teach. They support different parts of your instructor preparation.
Do the guides follow the ACS, and will I receive updates?
Yes! The guides are organized around the applicable Airman Certification Standards (ACS), with topic codes for reference. Revised versions are emailed when updates are released. Before preparing for your next checkride, save the latest version and use it alongside current FAA references and your instructor’s guidance.
Is this a digital download or a physical book?
This is a digital PDF bundle, not a printed book or binder shipped to you. Access is delivered electronically after successful payment.
Save your files and open them on your computer, tablet, or phone using a compatible PDF reader. If your access email is missing, check your spam folder and contact us with your order number and purchase email.
Who created these study guides?
The guides were created by Ava (@pilot.avabelle), an airline pilot and E175 simulator instructor. Her background includes serving as a lead flight instructor and check airman at the University of North Dakota, where she administered 100+ certificate-granting checkrides and personally trained 40+ students with a 100% oral checkride pass rate.
