What’s included in the CFI/CFII Lesson Plan Bundle?
You’ll receive both complete CFI and CFII lesson-plan sets, covering Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument, and Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI).
Why buy the bundle instead of purchasing each set separately?
You get both complete lesson-plan sets at a lower price than buying them individually. These are the same sets sold separately, not shortened versions.
You don’t need to be preparing for both checkrides at once. Start with the CFI material, then use the CFII lessons when you’re ready to prepare for instrument instruction.
Who created the lesson plans?
Ava (@pilot.avabelle), a current airline pilot and E175 simulator instructor with Boeing 737 and Embraer 175/190 type ratings, created these lesson plans.
Previously, Ava served as a lead flight instructor and check airman at the University of North Dakota (UND), where she administered 100+ certificate-granting checkrides and personally trained 40+ students with a 100% oral checkride pass rate.
Her experience teaching, evaluating, and flying professionally shapes these lesson plans, helping you explain concepts clearly, connect them to real-world flying, and teach with confidence.
Are these for my instructor checkrides or for teaching students?
Both! Use the lessons to organize and prepare for your CFI and CFII checkrides, then as a reference when instructing Private, Commercial, and Instrument students.
They’re a starting point to personalize, not a script to memorize. You’ll still need to understand the material and practice teaching it in your own words.
Does this bundle include the CFI and CFII Checkride Study Guides?
No. This bundle includes lesson plans only. The CFI and CFII Checkride Study Guides are separate products, but will be bundled automatically if added to the cart!
The lesson plans help you prepare what you’ll teach. The checkride study guides help you practice the questions you’ll be asked, using mock oral-style questions and separate answer keys. They support different parts of your preparation.
Can I customize the lesson plans?
Yes! The lesson plans are provided as editable PDFs, so you can add your own examples, adjust explanations, and tailor aircraft-specific information using your airplane’s POH/AFM.
You get an organized starting point without having to build every lesson from a blank page.
Are the lesson plans ACS/PTS-aligned, and will I receive updates?
Yes. The CFI and CFII lesson plans are aligned with the applicable ACS/PTS, and updates are included.
Updated versions are emailed to customers when revisions are released, so you can incorporate those changes into your preparation and teaching.
Does this bundle include MEI lesson plans?
No. This bundle includes the CFI and CFII lesson-plan sets.
For multi-engine instruction, you can purchase the MEI Lesson Plans separately or choose our CFI/CFII/MEI Lesson Plan Bundle to get all three sets.
Will I receive physical binders, or is this a digital download?
This is a digital product with instant download access after purchase. No physical books or binders are shipped.
